Barbara has just returned from a trip to Asia. Jack was not able to go because of the great expense to take this trip. Many of you gave so that Barbara could go and we thank you so very much for your faithfulness. Barbara traveled with Curt and Holly M., missionaries USA. Jeff B., a Jewish believer and missionary, joined our team the last 2 weeks. Curt coordinated the trip with Mr. R., a Nepali guide dedicated to bringing the message of salvation to Asia. Below are a few pictures and highlights of the trip. TIBET As seen in the team picture below, Tibet has the highest mountains in the world ~ ![]() but the land is bleak where only clusters of Nomads roam, work and live -- for centuries. ![]() |
We
traveled for 4 days in Tibet through 5 passes over 20,000 feet. At each
pass there were flags hung representing the Buddhist concept of god – the
5 elements of the earth.
Green: The Water (water is Jade color) Blue: The Sky and the vastness White: The clouds and purity Red: The fire and power Tibetans diligently hang flags in every high place in
honor of their gods. Pictured below are hundreds of flags hung at an altitude
of over 20,000 feet.
On each pass we hung flags using the same colors – if you could view the details of the flags below, you would see a red heart with a cross drawn, John 3:16 stamped on each in the Tibetan language and statements on each flag telling the plan of salvation.
Our mission was to proclaim the truth. |
It is unlawful to preach the gospel
in Tibet.
Everywhere we put our foot we proclaimed the land belonged to the Lord Jesus Christ and prayed the people of Tibet would come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. On every high place Curt blew the shofar breaking spiritual bondages proclaiming the Lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bibles were given to many people including monks where the Lord provided opportunity
On April 23 we crossed the border at Kodari into Tibet and drove for four days ending in Lhasa. On April 29 we took a plane returning to Katmandu and continued the remainder of the journey into other parts of Nepal, Bhutan and India. NEPAL, BHUTAN, INDIA Everywhere we traveled the gospel was well accepted. Several came to salvation. And, we were able to introduce prophetic worship to believers laying a foundation for 24-hour worship services on future missionary journeys. |
| Please pray for us ~
We are not clear on the Lord’s direction for continued overseas’ missionary work. Our heart is for the nations and for the unreached. We especially want to be a source of teaching and encouragement to indigenous pastors, teachers and leaders worldwide. Mr. R., our missionary and guide in Nepal, told us there are many new leaders being raised up in the body of Christ in Asia. Praise God! But these new pastors and leaders do not have funds for Bible training. These new pastors and leaders are eager to go out and win the lost – but they do need training. Mr. R. said to one of these new pastors, “I’m looking
forward to Jesus coming back again.” The new pastor responded, “Oh, He’s
coming back again?” If they cannot go to Bible School, then we must
take the Bible school and training to them.
|
We are called to take the training to teachers, pastors
and leaders. And, we are especially burdened for this generation
of children to hear the gospel and receive Jesus as Lord.
Please pray for us that the Lord will direct us and provide a way for us to continue to go to the nations. Thank you for your prayers and faithfulness. If you would like to be part of New Horizons International Ministries in any way – prayer support, financial support, or be part of a training team to the nations – please contact us. We are here to serve you. Jack and Barbara Bloomquist
