We want to give you an update! So much has happened since sending our last Newsletter in September 2003. God has called us from our home church ~ Immanuel's Church in Silver Spring ~ to serve indigenous pastors, teachers and leaders in foreign countries - especially third world unreached countries where tribal people need to hear the gospel. In addition to traveling to foreign countries ~ going on 4 years now ~ the Lord has lead us to teach 1st generation emigrants in churches right here in the USA. FALL/WINTER MINISTRY USA October through January ~ God's House, Baltimore, MD We have been ministering weekly to the children at God's House - a single Mom's home and ministry in Baltimore. God's House has 2 homes, where we were privileged to teach their 10-12 children on Saturday evenings from 6PM to 10PM. Children from God's house play the parts of angels looking at the extremely prideful - powerful Lucifer as he tries to convince them to follow him in rebellion.
The children are gifted in worship/drama and we were pleased to teach them from our new curriculum series entitled The 7-fold Spirit of God ~ which includes a timeline drama and a 31-Day Journal/Devotional Project the children made. DIANE GAYLORD IN HAWAII In December, the New Horizon's Board commissioned Diane Gaylord as a full time missionary to Hawaii where she has begun working as coordinator and administrator for the Water for Life project which is part of the Science and Technology School at the University of Nations.
The project's goal is to get water purifiers to areas of the world where children suffer deaths and illnesses from impure water. Diane is also working with the Family Life School where she may teach in the area of abuse and neglect, and other justice issues for children. CHILDREN'S CURRICULUM During the past three-four years we have developed our own teaching curriculum that has proven very effective overseas. We are self-publishing the curriculum to help finance our ministry here in the USA and also help us to continue to go to the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. October and continuing to the present time ~ Tree of Life Chinese Church, Potomac. We have been ministering to the children every Sunday morning ~ training teachers and children in evangelism. We are currently teaching from The Children's Taking Root Series from Immanuel's Church. The children participated in a worship presentation for the Christmas program.
October and continuing to the present time ~ The Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Washington, DC. We have been ministering to the children every Sunday morning ~ training teachers and children, focusing our teaching on worship.
On October 31st, we directed a portion of the Harvest Party at the Ethiopian Evangelical church pictured above. The children drew their fears on the paper and then did an acting play, with costumes, about Elisha praying to God to open his servants eyes so he could see the spiritual army that surrounded them. We turned on a black light that engulfed their fears with chariots and angels. We will be conducting an upcoming Teacher Training Seminar at the Ethiopian Church joined with a team from East Gate Worship Center to encourage the teachers and to give impartation during worship to the over 40 teachers that will be attending the seminar.
We continue to worship God through art and music with Eastgate Worship Center on Tuesday evenings ~ as well as travel to 24 hour worship events in Maryland and Washington DC.
We will be going to Nepal and Northern India to encourage saints, hold worship seminars, visit children's homes and Bible Schools and do evangelistic work along the way. This is a work that has been ongoing for several years under the direction of Curt and Holly Maloy. Barbara accompanied Curt and Holly and Jeff Bernstein last spring on a month long trip.  Jack and Barbara will both be traveling with an Eastgate Worship Center Team of 6 in early April. We need to raise an additional $3500 and are asking you to partner with us in prayer and with finances as the Lord leads. INTERCESSORY PRAYER PARTNERS We would like to invite you to become an intercessory prayer partner and consider supporting us in prayer. 1. That we would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading and to His timing on where we would serve. 2. That our health would continue to improve. For strength in mind and body for both Jack and Barbara. That Thomas and Hannah would continue to prosper in health and in ministry. 3. For signs, wonders, and miracles to follow as we minister. That many lives be touch and transformed, as we become conduits of his anointing. 4. That creativity would flow, new ideas, and lasting impressions be embedded into the minds and spirits of this generation of children and young teens. 5. That children we teach would love God and desire to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. That they come to know him as personal Savior and receive Him as Lord of their life. 6. That intercessors would be raised up to pray for us daily. 7. That finances and support be provided in abundance as needed through donations and the publication of children's curriculum. |
