GUATEMALA NEWS
As we were praying for the trip
to Guatemala, we asked the Lord, "How should we prepare, what should
we take with us?" Lots of large visuals and Bible stories or worship
flags with yards of pretty material and meaningful symbols or maybe large
felt lessons and story boards? The Lord didn’t have us take any of that
stuff. We prepared mostly for teacher training lessons – and every lesson
was used – the Lord had prepared them all!
As we were praying for the trip
to Guatemala, we asked the Lord,, "What is our purpose for going on
this trip?" We didn’t know what to expect. And, the Lord didn’t reveal
to us what to expect.
We got to know the children,
and took part in their day-to-day activities; we got to eat their food,
and we lived with them; but most of all we got to love them. And, LOVE
was the purpose of the trip.

We ministered to the needs of
the children through teaching the housemothers for 3 ½ hours each
morning and their school teachers on Wednesday. We found there were hurting
abused housemothers and shame in the teachers from their childhood that
had never been healed – the hurts had been hidden and tuck away and their
hearts needed healing too.
As we were praying for the trip
to Guatemala, we asked the Lord,, "Will you fall in revival power --
Would there be worship and your heavy weight of glory, or maybe hours of
intercession?" Our prayer was that the Lord would make Himself known
to them. And, He did, but not the way we expected. What an Awesome God
we serve!
God made Himself known to the
housemothers, the teachers and the children – through his LOVE.

SONGS OF JOY HOME
The children at Songs of Joy
stole our hearts as soon as we arrived. The Lord led us to teach about
the heart, and gave us several creative ways to give this message to the
kids.

to their 30 girls at Prince of Peace Home.

to their near 70 children at Songs of Joy.

who prayed and gave so that we could go and share His LOVE
